Edenor S.A. (Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte Sociedad Anónima) is a private company incorporated by the Argentine State on July 21, 1992 (Decree No. 714/1992),4​1​5​ whose corporate purpose is to provide the service of distribution and commercialization of electrical energy within the northwestern zone of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the districts-municipalities belonging to the Province of Buenos Aires that are located in the north and northwest of the metropolitan area of ​​Buenos Aires.
Edenor provides its electricity service to 3.2 million customers, made up of 9 million people and 362 thousand companies, in an urban area of ​​4,637 km². It is listed on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange and its shares make up the basket that makes up the Merval index, the main stock market indicator in Argentina. On April 26, 2007, it was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Problem Statement

 

Edenor, as many other companies required to discontinue their Novell Netware infrastructures.

With the guidance and expertice of Microsoft Services and Datco we performed the analysis, planning, design, development, stabilization and implementation of the migration executing multiple projects on paralel. Once this project were finished and the knowledge transfered, with the administration team we supportered the daily operations for the infrastructure.

Migration and Coexistence

Once Microsoft Infrastructure was implemented and ready we proceed with the Migration activities:

  • Migration from Novell Groupwise to Microsoft Exchange
  • Migration from Novell NDPS to MS Print Server
  • Migration from Novell File Management Suit to MS File Server
